Drama Queens will accomplish this by using a multi-layered approach to take theater and performing arts into underprivileged communities. Through the Break a Leg Workshops, children and young women will be given instruction by professionals in the area of theater, teaching basics such as emoting, vocal delivery, and stage presence, and an interactive guide called the Thinking Thespian Guide that will provide readers with acting exercises and information about the basics of theater that can be done independently.
This will also be a project for the creation of sustainable resources that will support their education beyond the workshops. An important element will be the Set the Stage Fundraiser, an online crowdfunding campaign on Milaap.com that aims to raise funds for constructing a permanent stage complete with AV equipment at the NGO premises. Eventually, participants will have the opportunity to perform their own play on this stage. Ballads of Bravery is the series of storybooks to further inspire young audiences with accounts of iconic Indian theater personalities' lives, like Usha Ganguli, recording the journeys, the obstacles and challenges they overcame and the contributions made by each of them in this regard.
